Covid 19 Update- June 5, 2020
We are excited to announce that the time has come for us to reopen our clinic. The Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia has released guidelines to allow reopening of dental offices on Friday June 5th, 2020 for emergency and urgent procedures ONLY.
If you have called our emergency line during the pandemic shutdown with dental-related pain, we will be contacting you with an appointment time for an assessment. If you are experiencing a new onset of pain or discomfort, please call the clinic.
If you have an appointment scheduled in the near future, our team will be reaching out to you to either confirm the appointment or change it as required. We will also soon be rescheduling missed appointments due to the COVID-19 closure. We would appreciate everyone’s patience as we work diligently through the schedules.
Our new protocol will follow the guidelines recommended by the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia. Therefore, there will be a few necessary changes to the dental office setting. Please see below.
Guidelines for your dental appointment:
Please do not come to the clinic if you:
are feeling sick;
are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms;
have travelled outside of Nova Scotia or have been in close contact with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patient in the past 2 weeks;
reside or work in a facility with a known COVID-19 outbreak.
Please attend your appointment alone; no guests or children will be permitted, unless someone requires assistance.
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
Only 3 persons will be permitted in the waiting room at one time.
Once you arrive at the dental clinic, you will be asked the COVID-19 screening questions again.
All patients must sanitize their hands upon entering the clinic with hand sanitizer provided.
You will be asked to wear a mask to attend your dental appointment, please bring your own if you have one.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
Covid 19 Update- June 1, 2020
Last week we received the news that we had all been anxiously waiting for, with Premier MacNeil and Dr Strang announcing that a number of services, including dentistry, will be permitted to reopen on 05 June. It is important to note that this reopening of dental offices across the province is a phased-in approach , with treatment being limited to the treatment of dental emergencies only. We are currently reviewing the protocols forwarded to us from the Provincial Dental Board so that we may continue to provide the safest environment possible within which to treat our valued patients. Once the guidelines have been reviewed and protocols tested we will communicate with patients that contacted us throughout the Pandemic with dental emergencies and will schedule appointments. If you are experiencing a new onset of dental emergency symptoms, please contact us directly and we will schedule an appointment.
Having said that, life is not going be the same as it was before the outbreak, and this is certainly true for our clinic as well as all other offices across the country. Therefore , we encourage patience and understanding as we go forth into the “ New Normal” together. We ask you please DO NOT phone the clinic at this time to reschedule your routine hygiene appointments and routine restorations. We will be contacted you once we are able to provide those services but during this first phase will need our phone lines for emergency care. Be assured our staff is working very hard to maintain the highest level of oral health care .
We look forward to seeing your smiles again!❤️
